Theatre Projects Consultants were pleased to work with UTA Fibre at Milton Court, Guildhall School of Music & Drama’s state-of-the-art facility in the City of London. Due to the sophisticated design of the project, UTA Fibre was commissioned by the specialist sub- contractor, Stage Electrics, to install, terminate and test fibre lines as part of the lighting, sound and communications infrastructure. There were thousands of metres of full duplex MM and SM fibre on the job terminating in a variety of connectors including OpticalCon and the Lemo 3K.93C HD camera connector.
It was always a pleasure to watch UTA technicians terminate a fibre line; securing and cleaning the area prior to work, taking great care over the neatness and cleanliness of the termination and protecting the installation once complete. Using advanced test equipment, UTA provided robust test certification confirming the standards met by each installed fibre line. In addition, UTA tested and commissioned the Ethernet data installations.
The team from UTA are very experienced and highly motivated taking great pride in their work and producing a top quality installation. UTA Fibre coordinates well with other teams on the job and makes a substantial contribution to any project where the performance of data and fibre lines is critical to success.
